VeChain, the leading blockchain platform for enterprise solutions, has announced the launch of VeBetterDAO, a new initiative to revolutionize web3 with a sustainability-focused dApp ecosystem.
VeBetterDAO will take advantage of the power of the VeChainThor blockchain to engage, incentivize, and reward users for taking actions that contribute to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
VeBetterDAO is not just another dApp platform but a vision for a more inclusive, equitable, and green Web3.
VeChain’s CEO, Sunny Lu, unveiled VeBetterDAO at the Mobile World Congress 2024 in Barcelona, Spain, alongside Nobel Laureate Sir Konstantin Novoselov.
Lu explained that VeBetterDAO is designed to address the multifaceted aspects of sustainability, including climate change, social justice, ethical labor practices, effective leadership and governance, and innovative business models.
He also emphasized the importance of data ownership and privacy, ensuring that the blockchain recognizes and protects users’ contributions to sustainability.
It is expected to launch in July 2024, with a pilot show alpha phase starting in March. The platform will also introduce two new tokens, B3TR and VOT3, which will serve as the utility and governance tokens of the ecosystem, respectively.
According to the press release, the VeBetterDAO launches in three phases, Pilot show Alpha: Testnet Take-off, Pilot Show Beta: Mainnet Blitz, and Go-Live Gala.
Each phase welcomes new features, with the launch of Go-Live Gala coinciding with the full mainnet launch on June 30th, 2024, the birthday of the VeChainThor blockchain.
VeChain has also announced extensive B3TR airdrop campaigns to seed an initial user base and drive engagement ahead of the full mainnet launch.
