Cardano Founder, Hoskinson Explains Why ADA and XRP Are Incompatible

Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano, has recently shared his views on why ADA, the native token of Cardano, can never work with XRP, the native token of Ripple.

Hoskinson responded to the XRP community’s requests and criticisms in a series of tweets and explained the technical and philosophical differences between the two projects.

Hoskinson stated that ADA and XRP are based on different architectures and design principles and have different goals and visions for the future of web3.

He also stated that Projects like Tezos, Algorand, Polkadot, Ethereum, and Cardano are solving similar problems.

But, Ripple is built for a different purpose. The connection of the tech makes no sense. Especially given the constant personal attacks, harassment, and utter inability to have a conversation.

Hoskinson’s tweets sparked a heated debate among the crypto community, with some supporting his arguments and others defending XRP.

Some accused Hoskinson of being biased, while others praised him for being honest and informative concerning the fact he took time to respond to the thread.

Some also suggested that ADA and XRP could collaborate and complement each other, rather than compete and clash.

Cardano and Ripple are two of the most popular and influential projects in the web3 space, with ADA and XRP ranking among the top 10 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization.

Both projects have ambitious plans and loyal fan bases, but they also face significant challenges and controversies.

Also, on the thread, Hoskinson also added a link to a YouTube video on the topic where he discussed the topic further.

“I even made a 52-minute video on this topic breaking down my opinion exhaustively. It was also ignored and misrepresented “regular people” aren’t interested in an nuance.” tweeted Hoskinson.

When questioned on the topic, the Cardano founder has always tried to portray the Cardano community as a standalone chain capable of functioning without partnerships and collaborations.

A year ago when the topic was first discussed, he specifically ejected the idea of working with XRP, saying that it was not compatible with Cardano’s vision and values.
