The bestselling novel and blockbuster movie Ready Player One, is about to become a reality itself.
Futureverse, an AI and metaverse technology and content company, has announced a partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery and the creator of Ready Player One, Ernest Cline, to bring the franchise to the metaverse across web3.
Futureverse and Cline have co-founded Readyverse Studios, a studio that will create and manage a massive virtual world based on Ready Player One, as well as other intellectual properties from Cline.
The studio has secured the exclusive web3 rights to the Ready Player One franchise from Warner Bros. Discovery, which produced and released the film adaptation directed by Steven Spielberg in 2018.
The virtual world, dubbed “The Readyverse“, will be an interactive platform of interconnected digital experiences, where gamers will be able to explore, play, socialize, and collect digital assets, such as crypto, non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and loyalty coins.
The Readyverse will feature immersive and gamified experiences, such as augmented reality (AR) drops, treasure hunts, and sweepstakes, that will unlock promotional tokens, perks, and benefits for users.
The Readyverse will also champion the principles of the open metaverse, and other web3 principles which are provable digital ownership, community-owned infrastructure, decentralization, and security.
Gamers will be able to transfer, trade, and redeem their digital assets across different platforms and communities, creating more value and engagement.
